The Story

In 2009, I boarded a plane from the United States and ended up in Ta Phin, Vietnam. It was there that I was faced with a harsh reality that haunts me daily. People living day to day without the basic necessities of life. One of them being, clean drinking water.

Through a couple organizations (Glocal Ventures and Forefront.org), we've been able to install 3 clean water systems over the last 3 years in local schools. The problem arises when it comes to the rest of the people in the Ta Phin village- they do not have access to this water; only the students. Also, when school is not in session, none of the children have access to clean water.

This leads to infections, disease, and ultimately death. I could not sit by and remain idle.

In February 2011, I will be abandoning my Scion xB completely, for a fixed gear bike I use to commute to and from work on a semi-regular basis. This month period will be used to catalog my daily journey, raise awareness for what's happening in Vietnam, and build up funds to complete the biggest project to date.

With $8,000.00 we can provide 600+ families with clean water.
Forever.
In case you missed that... FOR-EV-ER! (thank you Sandlot).

If every single one of my Facebook friends donated $10, we'd already be $2,000 over what we needed. That's just skipping two fast food meals in the next two months to provide clean water for 600+ families... forever.

Making a difference and changing people's lives is the single greatest way we can leave a mark on this world. May we join together to make a difference in the lives of 600+ families who will be eternally grateful, for generations to come.
